Negredo wanted by Hammers

West Ham made an offer of £17m for Alvaro Negredo back in January as the striker prepares for a summer move away from Spain.

Everton were strongly linked with Negredo back in the New Year but £20m proved to be too much - now Sevilla president Jose Del Nido has revealed that the Hammers made an offer of £17m which was turned down by the Spanish club.

Sevilla have a release clause of £20m on the 27-year-old who scored 25 goals last season and they are looking to get full value for the striker.

His agent, Juanma Lopez, has confirmed there is interest from the Premier League for the player but hinted that Rafael Benitez's Napoli may be his preferred option.

"Alavaro has played a very important season and many clubs are coming forward for him," Lopez told tuttomercatoweb. "I think he can go either to England or Italy.

"Napoli is a possibility given that [Rafa] Benitez likes the player and the team will play in next season's Champions League, a competition that Negredo would like to take part in.

"The final decision is up to Seville, whoever wants Negredo has to find an agreement with them."

Benitez appointed new Napoli coach

Rafa Benitez has agreed a two-year contract to become the new coach of Napoli.

Monaco confirmed the signings Moutinho and Rodriguez worth €70m

Walter Mazzarri revealed last weekend that he is leaving Napoli this summer and he is widely expected to take charge at Inter Milan.
A string of names, including Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Jurgen Klopp, had been linked with the position at Napoli.
However, De Laurentiis has been in London to discuss a deal and he expects current interim Chelsea manager Benitez to sign a contract until 2015.
"I've given myself a gift for my 64th birthday," De Laurentiis told Sky Sport Italia. "Benitez will be the next Napoli coach.

"I'll make it official in the next few days as Benitez needs to end things with Chelsea. He'll have a two-year contract, no longer.

"We need to get to know each other first, then we'll see."
Benitez has been at Chelsea since November after replacing the sacked Roberto Di Matteo and he has led the club to Europa League final success and qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.
He has previous experience of coaching in Serie A after being appointed Inter Milan boss in the summer of 2010 after leaving Liverpool.
The 53-year-old won the Club World Cup with Inter, but was sacked just a few days later after barely half a season at the San Siro helm.
The Spaniard will be taking over a Napoli side that finished second in Serie A this season, nine points adrift of champions Juventus.

Cavani offered to City

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says the club are trying to sell highly-rated striker Edinson Cavani to Manchester City.

And De Laurentiis says his sporting director Riccardo Bigon has been negotiating with City about a deal in which Edin Dzeko would move to the Serie A side as part of the price for Cavani.

It had been speculated that film producer De Laurentiis and a Napoli delegation had been in London to approach outgoing Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez about their vacant head coaching post.

But De Laurentiis was quoted by Gazzetta.it as saying: "I did not go to London for Benitez. You would have me appointing 15 coaches, I've heard them all in the last six months.
"Yesterday I was in London with (managing director Andrea) Chiavelli and Bigon for a simple reason, I have to prepare for the release of the film about (former Apple boss) Steve Jobs.
"However, I told Bigon, 'Go to City and take the chance to negotiate over Dzeko and see what they are willing to do for Cavani'."

Cavani is one of the most coveted strikers in Europe and scored 29 goals in 34 Serie A matches for Napoli in the season just completed.

The 26-year-old reportedly has a £50m buy-out clause in his contract.

Pazzini on Napoli radar

Napoli are lining up a summer move for Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Azzurri look likely to stay without Edinson Cavani at the end of the season and they are searching for potential reinforcements.

After Internacional striker Leandro Damiao opted to remain in Brazil, Napoli have turned their attention towards Milan’s Giampaolo Pazzini.

Walter Mazzarri is well aware of the player’s qualities having coached him at Sampdoria and he is convinced the Italy interantional would be an excellent addition to the squad at Stadio San Paolo.

Pazzini hasn’t managed to nail down a regular starting berth at San Siro, with the arrival of Mario Balotelli further damaging his chances.

The 28-year-old, therefore, is likely to be interested in an offer from Napoli, but only if Edinson Cavani indeed leaves the club.

In spite of starting just 15 Serie A games this season, Pazzini has scored no less than 13 goals.

Napoli want £60m for Cavani

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has put a £60million price tag on Manchester City target Edinson Cavani.

Top Richest footballers in the World

The Uruguayan striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 27 goals for the Serie A side, reportedly making him among City's top targets for the summer.

But De Laurentiis insists the 26-year-old will not be leaving Napoli unless the club receives a huge bid for the player.

"We included a very high buy-out clause in his contract as we want him to stay," said De Laurentiis, quoted in The Sun.

"But if some nutter is willing to pay £60m, which would mean a net fee of £54m for Napoli, we are ready to listen to the offer.

"Let it be clear that the final decision lies with Edinson. He knows he's respected here and that the people love him."
